Rostom Khachikian

Rostom Khachikian was born in 1970 in Paris, France. The first steps in the field of music he started with dhol (national drum). He attended at dhol-lessons to Hakob Kalfanyan.

In 1989 he played in the Armenian Folk-music instruments ensemble of Paris as a dhol-player (drummer). The director of that ensemble was Pedros Nergararyan.

Playing in the ensemble and communicating with different musicians, especially with Armenian duduk-players, Rostom Khachikyan showed a great interest and affection for duduk.

As a duduk player he started his first steps in 1994 with teacher Gevorg Dabaghyan and then he learnt to play duduk from such famous masters as Volodia and Alik Harutyunyans, George Minasov, Benik Ignatyan, Vahan Harutyunyan, Eghishe Manukyan, Arsen Grigoryan and others.

Now Rostom Khachikian collaborates with various musical groups of Paris taking part in different concerts with them.
